Meet Sarah Church
Canadian alternative rock artist Sarah
Church is heading into a huge fall, with
her biggest release yet just around the
corner. Following a successful August 21
performance at the Dundas Cactus
Festival, where Sarah and her full band
played to an enthusiastic and emotionally
connected crowd, attention now turns to
the release of her second full-length album, Shadows of Time, arriving
October 24.
Before the album drops, Sarah Church and her band return to Hamilton’s
Corktown Pub on September 25 as part of an all-female-fronted band night
hosted by Jasmine T. Then, on October 24, Shadows of Time will be
celebrated with a special album release show at a venue to be announced.
The new album arrives at an exciting point in Church’s career. Her recent
run has included a performance on the Steelport Stage at Supercrawl, a
sold-out Road to Supercrawl show at Hamilton’s Mills Hardware, headline
appearances at Burlington’s The Block Co., a featured appearance at
Harmonia Live, and national television exposure on Come Dine with Me
Canada. Her live résumé also includes Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern, Live On
Elgin in Ottawa, and standing-room-only shows at Musiikki Café in Kingston.
With recent singles Drive, Always a Way, and Pause Button, Church has
been steadily introducing audiences to the sound and emotional range of
her new material. Shadows of Time brings those songs into a larger body of
work and marks an important new chapter for Sarah Church and her band.

Sarah Church writes and performs original Canadian alternative rock that
isn't afraid of emotional extremes. Her songs move from quiet, dirge-like
laments to moments of fire and release, exploring love, heartbreak, escape,
commitment, and the complicated places in between.
On stage, Sarah shifts between piano and electric guitar, anchored by her
classically trained, commanding voice. Lead guitarist Adam Ostrosser
expands the sound beyond traditional rock, weaving soaring melodic lines
with atmospheric textures. Bassist James Gannett provides the pulse
through intricate, musical arrangements, while drummer Joel Anderson
knows when restraint serves the song and when to drive it forward with
undeniable power.
Every song in the set is an original, taking audiences from deep heartbreak
to hard-earned triumph. It's music made for listeners first, but more than
once it has had festival crowds on their feet.
